A new line up of creative workshops in Yeovil Art Space and in our nearby edible garden. Ranging from photography, mosaic, silver sculpture, crochet, art journaling, creative gardening and collage, perfect opportunity to learn something new and enjoy being creative with us!

Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop with Natasha Rand
Friday 13 May, 10am-1pm
£45 per person, adult only
Basic beginners silver clay workshop. Inspired by natural form, learn how to roll & cut precious metal clay, add textures, layer to create a pendant or brooch. Price includes 7g of silver art clay which when fired, results in 99.9% fine silver pieces which can be sent for hallmark. The session will cover planning your design, making a prototype, working with silver clay, firing, finishing, and polishing.

World Collage Day
Individual & collective collages on paper with Stéphanie Max

Join us to celebrate the World Collage Day!
Explore a variety of mark making and prints with the group through a diverse range of materials and joyful exercises. Tear, scratch, wrinkle, cut and more to create your base to work with individually. Invitation to take part in a big collective collage as well. A unique experience to book!

Alternative Photography with Carolyn Lefley
SAT 21 May, 10am – 3pm

Age 19 and over
Bringing participants further into alternative photographic processes. Learn how to create cyanotypes on paper and fabric with digital negatives and lumen prints on silver based darkroom paper.

Growing Together!
Family friendly creative gardening workshops with Lara from Skool Beanz
SAT 23 April / SAT 21 May / SUN 19 June, 1-3pm
£25, for 1 adult OR a family with 1 adult and 1 child under 16 of age.
Join Lara for creative gardening sessions outside in the Yeovil Art Space edible garden, near the Quedam escalators.
Saturday 23 April – Upcycling old furniture and containers into planters combined with sowing windowsill cut and come salad.
Saturday 21 May – Grow a Pizza Garden, planting basil, tomatoes, peppers, onions, oregano and parsley in a trough to take home and decorate a wooden spoon for a label.
Sunday 19 June – Pot & tin can vase decorating and planting combined with cut flower arranging.

Freeform Crochet project with Steph Baker

Freeform crochet is working without a pattern, in the traditional sense, and is popular in Eastern Europe. Motifs, also known as scrumbles, are constructed with decorative stitches forming textured, random shapes that are then crocheted or sewn together. Whether you are a beginner or a skilled crocheter, learn to throw away what you know and just let your creativity flow! Form part of the wall hanging display. Donation only for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Mosaic Mirror Workshop with Dawn Handy

Create a one-of-a-kind, small mosaic mirror, hand-shaping tesserae from a plethora of exciting recycled materials. Learn how to design and create a mosaic mirror, and how to grout and seal your work, with expert tuition.

Self-care Art Journaling with Ali Mauger

Art journaling is a form of creative self care. Your art journal can be filled with anything from painting and doodling to collage and photos and using any media. Existing skills can be used but equally, absolutely no experience is necessary. Journaling time is time to de-stress….space to be yourself, let go and have fun. All material provided.

- ‘Make it together’ for some workshops, an offer for a group of 2 family or friends to make one item together.
- Most of the workshop takes place on the 1st floor. If you require wheelchair access or have difficulties climbing stairs, please let us know so we can make arrangements.

- 100% refund for cancellation before 30 days prior to the event.
- 50% refund for cancellation before 14 days prior to the event.
- Non-refundable for cancellation within 7 days prior to the event.
- Transfer to another workshop is possible if you cancel 7 days before the workshop date.
- Full refund if YAS cancels the workshop due to insufficient sign up.
- Cancellation Policy does not apply to workshop with Pay What You Wish Pricing Policy.
