LATEST WORKSHOPS
Cyanotype & Solargraphy Workshop with Carolyn Lefley

[Introduction workshop] Saturday 1 April 10-12
Yeovil Art Space is delighted to be running an introduction to alternative photographic techniques with experienced artist and tutor Carolyn Lefley. Learn how to create cyanotype prints exposed with UV light. This is a traditional photographic technique that results in stunning blue prints. Carolyn will also show students how to make a Solargraphic image using a homemade pinhole camera. (Limited 10 places only, first come first served)
[Progression Workshop] Saturday 22 April 10am – 3pm
Participants will be also invited to take part to a full-day workshop on 22 April 10am -3pm to create site-specific images about Yeovil using acetate and cyanotype. Work created will be shared at the View of Yeovil Exhibition between 31 May – 8 July at the Gallery Space in Yeovil Art Space, part of Story of Yeovil community project.

Creative Gardening Workshop with Lara Honnor

[Introduction workshop] Saturday 13 May & 17 June 10-12
Fantastic opportunity to get creative with gardening. Lara Honnor of Skool Beanz, joins us at the Yeovil Art Space community garden to inspire you in your own green space. For those interested in creative gardening, upcycling, and creating small gardens.

‘OFF THE WALL’ Art History Sessions with Samantha Hann

Join us in this brand-new series of Art History Sessions with Samantha Hann, art history lecturer, artist and Yeovil Creatives member. These sessions will be a light-hearted, whistle-stop tour, looking at and discussing a small selection of works of art from 1900 to the modern day. These works have changed the direction of art history in some capacity, and each poses the continuous question, what is art? Fun and informative tasks will be part of the sessions, allowing for conversation, and embedding the concepts and ideas through practical application!

Talk 2: Wednesday 17 May 6-8pm
Talk 3: Wednesday 21 June 6-8pm

These workshops are run in partnership with Somerset Skills & Learning. The sessions are FREE for attendees with the following SS&L eligibilities:
- aged 19+
- AND live in Somerset (not including Bath & North East Somerset)
- AND you have lived in the UK/EU for the last 3 years OR you have refugee status / right to remain. *Please note – proof of eligibility may be requested.
- AND are unemployed / have a combined household income of less than £20,000 per year
